John H. Arnold, MD, specializes in adult cardiac surgery, general thoracic surgery and peripheral vascular disease. Dr. Arnold began his surgical career at Cleveland Clinic, opening a de novo satellite surgical program. He returned in 2010 after serving as President and Partner of his private practice cardiothoracic and vascular surgery group in Columbus.

Dr. Arnold received his medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine and Public Health. He completed his general surgery residency at Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tenn. And his cardio thoracic residency at the University of Utah Hospitals and Clinic, Slat Lake City, Utah.

His speciality interests are acquired diseases of the heart, intrathoracic aorta, valve repair and replacement, surgical arrhythmia intervention, surgical support of the failing heart, vascular surgery, thoracic surgery, less invasive surgical techniques and equipment, quality and medical efficiency initiatives, and surgical safety initiatives.

Dr. Arnold is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. He is a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons. He has served as a reviewer for the International Society for Heat & Lung Transplantation and also serves on the Advisory Committee on Blood Safety and Availability of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services.
